INTERNATIONAL ANTI-CORRUPTION DAY IN INTEGRITY WEEK IN ALBANIA INTEGRITY: A COMPASS TO DEMOCRACY AND COMPETITIVENESS, CONFERENCE ORGANIZED BY ICC ALBANIA

The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC Albania), in collaboration with the National Anti-Corruption Coordinator (MAPA), the Strong Municipalities Project of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation SDC and the Government of Sweden, implemented by Helvetas, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Albania and CR Partners, is organizing the Annual Conference of the 7th edition of Integrity Week in Albania, which will take place on 9 December 2025 at the Tirana Marriott Hotel.
This year’s theme, which marks International Anti-Corruption Day, “Integrity: A Compass for Democracy and Competitiveness”, aims to place the essential role of integrity at the heart of strengthening democratic institutions, promoting accountability and building a competitive and resilient economy.
This year’s agenda includes several dynamic sessions, including:
Integrity in Governance – The Role of Accountability in Democracy
A high-level discussion on accountability mechanisms that reinforce democratic values and public trust.
Panel: Insight Partners Panel
Perspectives from key societal actors on corruption and integrity, highlighting findings from research and joint collaboration.
Parallel Sessions:
Integrity and Competitiveness: Building a Fair and Resilient Market
Speakers explore how corporate governance reforms, integrity measures and ethical business practices contribute to economic growth, fair competition and Albania’s alignment with European standards.
Building Trust: Knowledge on Local Integrity Planning – organized by the Strong Municipalities Project of SDC and SIDA, implemented by Helvetas
This session explores how municipalities have engaged in the preparation of Integrity Plans, the types of measures included and the main results achieved.
Building Capacity for Sustainable Monitoring of Public Contracts – organized by CLE, ARI, supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Albania
A high-level session examining the importance of increasing institutional and civic capacities to ensure continuous, transparent and accountable monitoring of public contracts.
Workshop: Ready Guards – New Strategies for Engaging Key Professions in the Fight Against Corruption – organized by CR Partners, organized in collaboration with the Basel Institute for Governance, ESG Network Albania and ICC Albania
In collaboration with the Basel Institute for Governance and local partners, this practical session will focus on the efforts of private sector actors to prevent corruption, presenting new strategies to increase transparency and accountability in professional practices through collective action.

Ruth Huber, Ambassador of Switzerland to Albania, The Hon Kastriot Frashëri CEO of the Frashëri Law Firm, Dr. Claudia Baez Camargo, Director, Basel Institute on Governance, etc.

The UN Global Compact requires companies to embrace, support and implement, within their sphere of influence, a set of core values in the areas of human rights, labor standards, the environment and anti-corruption.
